What is disinfectant fogging? Products are applied through a method known as “fogging.” Fogging is the act of applying disinfectant to a specific area as a fog or mist. Dispersing a disinfectant as a fog or mist acts as a supplementary disinfectant for hard to reach high touch surfaces. Fogging has been widely and successfully used throughout the food processing, medical, and manufacturing industries for several years.
What makes KOPE Services Disinfectant fogging different than others? Kope Services uses a 2 Step fogging method.
The first step is applying a hospital grade disinfectant to high touch surface areas. This is something that should be done on a regular basis anyhow and is the traditional step taken when disinfectant fogging.
Kope Services second step is what sets them apart from the traditional cleaning / disinfecting process. Our second step involves applying an antimicrobial layer of solution to high touch surface areas. This layer uses basic chemistry principals of creating a positively charged polymer layer on treated surfaces. These surfaces are then protected and whenever a negatively charged microorganism (Definition: a microscopic organism, especially a bacterium, virus, or fungus) touches the treated surface the cell membrane ruptures, destroying or inhibiting many micro organisms.
Traditional disinfecting is only effective for a very short time; in fact most disinfectants state that the surface must remain wet for a specific amount of time to kill any microorganisms. After the surface is dry then it is no longer killing microorganisms and the surface is again susceptible to microbes.
The second step in Kope Services 2-step disinfectant fogging process provides a protective shield coating that ensures a long lasting antimicrobial efficacy and is safe for humans and the environment.

Interesting facts about this service:
Fogging is more efficient in reaching hard to get to and high touch surfaces
Fogging is widely and successfully used throughout the food processing, medical, and manufacturing industries.
The second step continues inhibiting or destroying microorganisms long after traditional disinfectants
The 4QUAT product that we apply has been listed on the EPAs List N “Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV2 (the cause of COVID-19). Because the testing process takes so long, there are currently no products on the market that the EPA will list as effective against COVID-19, however this product has been confirmed against harder to destroy viruses.
